Texas Institute of Letters Presents: 2025 Adult Literature Award Winners

Each year the Texas Institute of Letters recognizes outstanding literary works by Texas authors. Join us to celebrate four of the 2025 award winners: James Aalan Bernsen won Carr P. Collins Award for Best Book of Nonfiction for The Lost War for Texas: Mexican Rebels, American Burrites and the Texas Revolution of 1811, Bret Anthony Johnston won the Jesse H. Jones Award for Best Book of Fiction for We Burn Daylight, Sasha West won the Burdine C. Johnson Award for Best Book of Poetry for How To Abandon Ship and Marcela Fuentes won the Sergio Troncoso Award for Best First Book of Fiction for Malas.
