The 2024 First Edition Literary Gala was held at the Fairmont Austin on Friday, November 15th. It is the biggest fundraiser of the year, providing much-needed resources to fulfill our mission and fund our programs. The Texas Book Festival is a non-profit organization which aims to connect authors and readers through experiences that celebrate the culture of literacy, ideas, and imagination. Gala proceeds make it possible for TBF to bring books and authors to 16,000 students in Title I schools every year, award grants to Texas public libraries, and keep the annual Festival free for all.
The 2024 Gala featured bestselling author Bret Anthony Johnston, Booker Prize long-listed author Claire Messud, 2024 Pulitzer Prize winner Cristina Rivera Garza, and beloved presidential historian Mark Updegrove. Check out the 2024 Gala photos.
