Mitchell’s The City We Built: Black Leaders of Austin highlights Black leaders who helped transform Austin’s social and cultural landscape in an easily digestible book perfect for children or adults. Valby’s nonfiction narrative book, The Swans of Harlem, revives the forgotten history of five pioneering Black ballerinas whose bond and talent broke barriers in the world of professional ballet. Join these authors for an illuminating conversation about Black changemakers and the importance of reclaiming Black history.
