Our Reading Rock Stars program brings nationally recognized authors and illustrators to Title I elementary schools across Texas to inspire young readers with engaging presentations, stories, and conversations.

During Reading Rock Stars visits, students have the opportunity to ask questions and make personal connections with authors. At the conclusion of the event, every student takes home their very own signed copy of the featured book, funded by Texas Book Festival.

The program currently serves schools in Austin, Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, El Paso, San Marcos, and the Rio Grande Valley with a strategic plan to grow the number of schools served in each geographic area. We commit to our Reading Rock Stars partner schools to bring the program to them for three consecutive years, so we invite interested schools to subscribe to the TBF newsletter and follow us on all social media channels @texasbookfest to learn when applications are open in their region.
