We’re looking for spirited and engaging program partners to take the stage at the 15th annual Lit Crawl! Lit Crawl is a bar-crawl style event that happens Saturday night of Texas Book Festival weekend. It features dynamic literary programs including readings, bookish trivia, and interactive games with top-notch local and national writers.

When: Saturday, November 8, 2025 | 7–10 PM
Where: Past crawls have occurred in the Red River Cultural District, East Sixth Street, East Cesar Chavez, and Congress Avenue. We are currently scouting and securing venues for 2025.
Who can apply to be a Lit Crawl program partner?
We accept submissions from literary organizations, writing groups, reading series, and publications. Just as Texas Book Festival seeks to feature an excellent and diverse mix of literature for all visitors and participating authors, Lit Crawl is committed to encouraging diversity in the literary world and promoting as wide a range of voices as possible.
Program Details:
- Programs typically run about 45 minutes long.
- Your program should be able to curate two to three authors who can engage an audience of book lovers. Texas Book Festival can help place authors in your event, but it’s helpful if you have connections to local published authors who can also appear.
- Lit Crawl readings are on the short side (5 to 8 minutes per author).
- Organizers and participants may take part in one Lit Crawl program. If your organization is hosting a program, you will not be able to read at or be part of the programming of another organization. Feel free, however, to attend other programs.
- If you’re a returning organization and have been hosting a particular program with us for several years, we encourage you to apply this year with a new concept or format.
- All submissions will receive an automatic reply to confirm we have received your submission. If your program is selected, you will receive another response by the end of September.
- Your help is needed in promoting your program. This includes but is not limited to inviting folks through newsletters and social media platforms.
