Nancy Nesbitt

Development Communications & Engagement Manager

What I work on

I communicate with the people, businesses, and foundations who value and contribute to TBF about the programs they support, and provide opportunities to engage with the Festival as well as our year-round literary events and outreach programs.

Why I work here

I believe reading opens worlds, excites imagination, encourages empathy, and forges lifelong learning. I am a longtime fan of Texas Book Festival, and especially love our outreach programs that support Texas public libraries and connect students at Title I public schools with authors and books. We have a stellar, collaborative team at TBF and I’m happy to be part of it!

My education and experience

I have a bachelor’s degree in professional writing from Baylor University. My professional background is in marketing and communications, and I’ve most recently worked as a freelance writer and editor. I also volunteer in public schools and with nonprofits that support education and literacy.

More about me

My husband and I are the parents of two smart and funny young adults and when I’m not spending time with them I am practicing yoga, walking the Very Best Dog, or reading literary fiction, middle grade novels, and picture books.
