Tam Hawkins is the President and CEO of the Greater Austin Black Chamber of Commerce, recognized as an award-winning organization. She leads the development and expansion of businesses in the five-county Central Texas area, as well as in several international markets, including Brazil, Bermuda, Kenya, San Francisco, New York, Atlanta, and Washington, D.C.
With a robust background in corporate sales and marketing management at some of the nation’s most esteemed companies, Tam combines her extensive corporate experience with personal entrepreneurial ventures in commercial real estate development. This unique perspective equips her with a deep understanding of the needs of small to medium-sized businesses.
A native of Dallas, Tam’s entrepreneurial spirit is closely intertwined with her civic engagement. She serves on the board of the East Austin Conservancy, which is dedicated to enhancing the community by promoting affordable housing and economic diversity. Additionally, she is an active member of the City of Austin Urban Renewal Board and Commission, a Nonprofit Austin Advisor, the Austin Community College Regional Advisory Chair, and the Visit Austin Board. She is also a proud alum of the Texas Lyceum.
