Sarah Bird is a bestselling novelist, screenwriter, essayist, and journalist. She has been an NPR Moth Radio Hour storyteller; a ten-time winner of Austin Best Fiction award; a finalist for The Dublin International Literary Award; an ALEX award winner; a Library Journal Best of the Year, an Amazon Literature Best of the Year selection, and a two-time winner of TIL’s Best Fiction award. She is a Texas Writers Hall of Fame honoree and a Dobie-Paisano fellow. Her most recent publication, Juneteenth Rodeo, a book of the photographs Sarah took at Black rodeos in the late 1970s, was named one of Smithsonian Magazine’s Most Important Books of the Year, won a silver medal in the Analog Sparks Competitions, was a Jury Final Five winner in the International Photo Awards, and received an Award of Excellence from Communication Arts Magazine.
