Dr. Lourdes Rodríguez is a Boricua in Texas. Born, raised and educated in Puerto Rico, she relocated to the continental U.S. to attend graduate school at the University of Connecticut and Columbia University. Her work in public health research and philanthropy is grounded in the principles of comunidad y solidaridad she grew up with and the matriarchal servant leadership style she learned from her mom. With her Texan husband Roj, they are raising three New Tex-Mexi Rican teenagers in Austin, TX.
