Lauren Peña is the Head of Collection Development at the Benson Latin American Collection. Lauren obtained a BA in Art History from Universidad de Oriente in Santiago, Cuba, and a PhD in Iberian and Latin American Literature and Cultures from UT Austin, with expertise in Cuban cinema. She has an extensive background in teaching and research, including work in art history, Latin American literature, archives and digital scholarship. In her free time, she enjoys the film scene in Austin.
