Laura Rice is managing producer and a regular host of the statewide NPR program and podcast Texas Standard. Laura’s work has been honored with numerous awards — including two National Edward R. Murrow awards. Laura has been based at KUT Austin for more than a decade. Prior to that, she had a career in local television. Laura graduated from journalism school at the University of Missouri-Columbia and earned an MA from the University of Texas at Austin’s department of Radio-Television-Film. She does most of her reading these days at bedtime to her two wonderfully curious kids.
