Joy is a proud Texas native, born and raised in Fort Worth and now living in South Dallas, Dallas. As a kid, Joy loved reading so much that she would sometimes get grounded from the library—a true sign of a book lover. During her master’s program, she rediscovered reading as a way to escape and find joy again. It wasn’t until her doctoral program at the University of Texas at Austin in 2019 that she began sharing her love of books more publicly, posting about them on Instagram. After graduating with her doctorate in 2023, she’s found even more time to read and continue to share her literary adventures with friends, family, and her growing online community. Her favorite stories are still the ones that make her feel—the kind that stay with you long after you’ve turned the last page.
