Abby Strite is the owner of Birdhouse Books and Gifts, an independent bookshop located in Austin, Texas. As a queer, woman, veteran, Abby has focused the store’s mission on providing a welcoming space for people of all backgrounds, with a particular focus on uplifting LGBTQ voices and providing LGBTQ representation for queer and questioning kids. Her previous career of 20 years spanned Air Force intelligence as well as product and tech, but she’s much happier talking about books all day.
