Sara Spurgeon teaches American Literature at Texas Tech University. Her personal essays have appeared Slate.com, The Sun Magazine, and Terrain.org. She is the co-editor of Weird Westerns: Race, Gender, Genre, which was short-listed for the Locus Awards. She and her dog, Mando, can frequently be found roaming rural Texas.
