Celeste G. Mendoza is a published poet, essayist, and playwright. She holds a doctoral degree in higher education leadership and policy, an MFA in poetry, and a BA in theater and English literature. She was a co-founder and co-director of CantoMundo, a workshop for Latina/o poets; a fellow of Hedgebrook, a retreat for women writers; and a Macondista, a community of writers who advance social justice. In addition to being a writer, Mendoza is a professional fundraiser with more than twenty-five years of experience. She is the assistant vice president of alumni relations and development at Trinity University.
