Maya Smart is a writer, literacy advocate and community volunteer. She serves on the boards of the Texas Book Festival and St. David’s Foundation, a health funder that invests $80 million annually in Central Texas. Previously, she chaired the University of Texas Libraries Advisory Council and served as the treasurer of the Austin Public Libraries Friends Foundation.
