Attending the Festival

The 2024 Texas Book Festival will take place on November 16–17, 2024. The Saturday hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the Sunday hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

There is no admission fee or RSVP requirement for the vast majority of Festival sessions; almost all of our sessions are free and open to the public. There are two ticketed sessions at the 2024 Festival: Malcolm Gladwell and Matthew McConaughey. Ticket holders receive session access as well as a pre-signed copy of the featured author’s book at their ticketed session. Tickets to these sessions are currently sold out. Should attendees cancel their reservations more tickets may become available.

The Festival will be held in downtown Austin in and around the Texas State Capitol building and at select venues in the area. Stay tuned on our digital channels for final program dates, times, and locations.

Book Signing

To ensure your book will be signed, the book must be purchased onsite at the Festival. Books are available for sale in the BookPeople Main Sales Tent or the BookPeople Children’s Sales Tent (both located on 11th Street). You may bring one pre-owned book for signing, though we cannot guarantee that every author’s guidelines will allow pre-owned books to be signed.

For specific author signing info, please refer to our Master Signing Schedule page.

Festival Friends

This year, we are implementing digital passes! These are being sent to the email used for the purchase beginning in October on a rolling basis until November 14, 2024. If you buy your Festival Friends pass after this date — including during Festival Weekend — you can visit the TBF store tent and speak with the Festival Friends table to receive a physical copy of your pass.

You can order a Festival Friends Pass over the phone at 512-477-4055 or through our website on the Festival Friends page.

Lost and Found

Our general Lost and Found location is at the TBF Info Booth, which is located on Congress Avenue between 10th and 11th Streets. We also have a Lost and Found station inside the Capitol in room E2.002 located on the “E2” floor, which is accessible via elevator. Items will remain in these locations until after the Festival. After the Festival, the items will be held at the Texas Book Festival office (1023 Springdale Road #14B) for 14 days.

Merchandise and the TBF Store Tent

They are the same hours as the Festival: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

The official 2024 Texas Book Festival poster and poster T-shirts will be on sale in the TBF Store on Congress Avenue.

You can purchase a 2024 Texas Book Festival T-Shirt in our TBF Online Merch Store. We do not have posters available in the online merch store; the 2024 Poster will be sold at the Festival.

We only offer Festival poster sales on-site at the Festival during Festival weekend at the TBF Store Tent. If you would like to purchase TBF merchandise online, we welcome you to visit our Online Merch Store.

Due to personnel and merchandise stock constraints, we unfortunately cannot hold merchandise. Merchandise will be available for sale at the Festival on a first come, first served basis. If you would like to purchase TBF merchandise in advance, we welcome you to visit our Online Merch Store.
