Michael Fojtasek is the founder and Executive Chef of MaieB Hospitality in Austin, Texas. His first restaurant, Olamaie, opened in 2014 and swiftly became a defining restaurant for the city. He has been awarded Food & Wine Magazine Best New Chef, garnered three time James Beard finalist nominations, and is the coordinating Chef for Luck Willie Nelson’s Luck Reunion. Michael’s culinary and community leadership has enabled him to continue building his group of restaurants. MaieB Hospitality now operates Little Ola’s, Maie Day, Gimme Burger, Redbud Icehouse, and the upcoming Albert Hotel in Fredericksburg, Texas. Olamaie has been honored to host the Sunday morning author’s book brunch each year since 2017 (excepting 2020). Michael, his mother, mother-in-law, and wife have been longtime supporters of The Texas Book Festival through volunteer efforts.
