The Gibbs Sisters (Shawneé Gibbs & Shawnelle Gibbs) are an award-winning writing team with backgrounds in television, animation, and comics. They have served as Lead Writers for Cartoon Network, Staff Writers for Warner Brothers Animation, and have written for Marvel Comics’s Women of Marvel anthology (2023). Their acclaimed debut YA graphic novel, Ghost Roast, recently received an official nomination for the Young Adult Library Services Association’s 2025 Great Graphic Novels for Teens Award. Originally from Oakland, California, the sisters’ grew up visiting their great grandparents’ family farm in Marshall, Texas. The pair currently work, live, and play in Los Angeles.
